Will Dunham
President and Chief Executive Officer, American Investment Council
Will Dunham is President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Investment
Council (AIC), the education and advocacy organization representing the private equity
and private credit industries. Together, the private equity and private credit industries
support millions of jobs, provide trillions in wages and benefits, and secure more than
35 million Americans’ retirements.
In this role, Dunham leads AIC in advocating for the private investment industry’s vital
contributions to the long-term growth of the U.S. economy and retirement security for
American workers. Dunham has steered the organization as it navigates complex, high-
profile policy debates, including tax, regulatory, and state-level initiatives.
Before serving as President and CEO, Dunham joined AIC as Executive Vice President
of Government Affairs, where he led AIC’s bipartisan advocacy team and education
efforts.
Dunham spent more than 13 years in Congress and brings years of experience leading
high-level legislative negotiations between the House, Senate, and the Executive
Branch. He served as the top policy aide to Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and as
executive director to Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) at the Republican Study
Committee. Before joining AIC, he served as a Policy Director at Brownstein, one of the largest lobbying firms in the United States, working for a diverse group of clients in the
financial services, health care, and consumer brands sectors.
Will graduated from Hillsdale College with a Bachelor of Science in English, and lives in
Alexandria, Virginia, with his wife and three children.
